Jian Ghomeshi disseminated about the issue of bottled water vs. tap water. He touched on the city vs. rural water issue, when he mentioned Walkerton and the unnecessary frenzy that unfortunate mishap (2 drunks on city staff didn't do their jobs properly, people died) predicated.
3 days later, my thoughts are on the other damages that people unwittingly perform on this place called nature. The fundamental element is water. It's why people come to this environment, and why there is an extra level of care required.
Plastic is the enemy. Leave as much of it behind in the city as possible, instead of disposing here, where we only have landfill. Or take it back to your tax base, where you already pay for its recycling. Help keep the water clean.

By the way, my water is tested regularly as required by law. Don't you wonder why a tourism property in a pristine part of the province has to submit water tests and pay for them so that you can get a shower or have a glass, and yet large corporations who bottle water do not? Even showing a 22 year history of clean water did not save me from this additional cost in providing accommodation. Also, due to a coincidence, I had, as a guest this past July holiday weekend, the woman who created the policy for the Ministry of Health. She tells me that I have been required to submit more tests than mandated, for a reason that has yet to be discovered. I will be meeting with my health unit officer sometime this winter to have my property's directive amended to reflect the law (instead of whim).
