Amazon.com is the paradigm that booking engines are using for selling tourism. Booksellers are now in a contract dispute with the major bookselling website in the world because of discounts. I have been watching the offers and the results in the tourism industry for a number of years, and now I see where the paradigm is coming from. From Vaway offering to write reviews for properties, to TripAdvisor calling my place a hotel in Madawasaka.
Tourists beware! You can't get what you actually want. Like a bad Rolling Stones cover...
The thing I find amazing is that people who work in marketing and IT don't understand what is going on. Every time I talk to someone about buy blocking, they have no idea what I am talking about, or are not letting on.
Not only is consumerism a fractious sense of reality, it is being skewed by 3rd party internet interests. 18% charged by booking engines is more than the government 13% for existing. Together, why would anyone invest in a place for you to have a vacation?
At this point, I will again make the appeal for you to choose a vacation where your credit card doesn't get hurt every time you turn around. Spend time with nature instead.
